Food Safety Specialist: Monroe, Wisconsin

Our customer in Monroe, Wisconsin is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re hiring a Food Safety Specialist to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Food Safety Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining certification standards, and supporting a positive food safety culture across the organization.

Responsibilities of the Food Safety Specialist:

• Promote and support a positive food safety culture throughout the organization
• Keep employees informed of food safety topics and trends.
• Serve as an active member of the Food Safety Team and Food Defense Team.
• Organize and participate in internal food safety meetings, projects, and external training.
• Assist with compliance to SQF Code for Food Manufacturing and other regulatory and customer requirements.
• Perform sanitary design reviews on new and existing equipment.
• Lead and maintain food fraud mitigation and food defense programs.
• Manage and update customer portals and complete customer questionnaires.
• Support crisis preparedness and response plans.
• Prepare for and assist during SQF, regulatory, and customer audits.
• Maintain all food safety certifications and regulatory licenses.
• Conduct mock food safety exercises, preventive control, and prerequisite program validations.

Food Safety Specialist Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Certified in HACCP and Preventive Controls for Human Food.
• 1–3 years of experience working with SQF and FDA regulations.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Excellent planning and project management abilities.
• Proficient with general computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Pay for Food Safety Specialist: Annual Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 (based on experience)
