Description - AmeriQual is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Evansville, IN! If you have a passion for problem-solving, process improvement, and keeping operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in new equipment installation, working professionally with Retort operators and other cross-functional department team members
- Troubleshoot and repair Retort malfunctions
- Exhibit a sense of urgency around work order completion and documentation of work performed; must be comfortable quickly escalating and communicating equipment issues to others for additional support and resources
- Perform equipment calibrations and preventive maintenance.
- Update the computerized maintenance system with accurate and timely information related to work performed
- Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines and GMP.
Requirements Qualifications - An advanced degree is not required, but strong mechanical abilities and troubleshooting aptitude are necessary.
- Successful candidates will have 1+ years' experience in the Retort department and/or understanding of retort technology
- Must be willing and able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment with hot, humid conditions.
- Reliable, professional, can-do mentality
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, and display strong time management skills, with the ability to work without extensive supervision
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team
- Working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards
Physical Requirements - Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and climb for prolonged periods.
- Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
- Frequent use of hands to operate tools and equipment; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to service machinery.
- Perform intricate repairs requiring manual dexterity, sometimes in confined spaces or on complex machinery and packaging systems.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequent work on the production floor, requiring tolerance of standard seasonal warehouse and food-processing temperatures.
- Work in a facility where nuts, fruits, and other allergens are present.
